Forthcoming Public Society Activities and Public Observing Sessions

This page provides an annual overview of our public activities.  The left column provides all the details (date, weather site links...) needed to attend one of our public observing sessions.  The right column provides all the details of other activities - usually set up by other associations or societies - where we will be participating.

Public Observing Sessions

The following dates have been earmarked to hold observing evenings in 2009. All are at the New Inn, Eccup (grid ref SE 288 429); see multimap.

Friday February 19 from 7.30pm

Wednesday March 3 from 7.30pm

Friday March 19 from 7.30pm

Wednesday March 31 from 7.30pm (to catch Mercury)

Friday April 16 from 8.00pm

Wednesday May 5 from 8.30pm

Wednesday May 19 from 9.00pm

No June meeting planned

Friday July 16 from 9.30pm

Meetings later in the year may be announced in the future

On the home page of the site, we will change the status of each evening from 'Planned' to either:
  • 'Going Ahead' - meaning that we will arrive at the time above on that evening.
  • 'Cancelled' - meaning that we will not turn up. This will be the case if the weather is not good enough for observing or if there are not enough members able to attend.

It is important that you check the home page on the above dates. We will modify the page early in the evening of the meeting.

Public Activities

None have as yet been arranged. When any are, they will be announced on this page.
