Forthcoming Public Society Activities and Public Observing Sessions
This page provides an annual overview of our public
activities. The left column provides all the details (date, weather site
links...) needed to attend one of our public observing sessions. The right
column provides all the details of other activities - usually set up by other
associations or societies - where we will be participating.

The following dates have been earmarked to hold observing evenings in 2009. All are at the New Inn, Eccup (grid ref SE 288 429); see multimap. Friday February 19 from 7.30pm Wednesday March 3 from 7.30pm Friday March 19 from 7.30pm Wednesday March 31 from 7.30pm (to catch Mercury) Friday April 16 from 8.00pm Wednesday May 5 from 8.30pm Wednesday May 19 from 9.00pm No June meeting planned Friday July 16 from 9.30pm Meetings later in the year may be announced in the future On the

Public ActivitiesApril 17, Fairburn Ings: Joint meeting with the RSPB at Fairburn Ings bird reserve near Castleford on Saturday 17th April, starting 7.30pm. We are having a half- evening nature watching and half- astronomical observing session with introductory presentations and equipment demonstrations. Bring your binocs! |
